This picture shows the silhouette of the tree on top of the Löwenburg, which is a mountain in the seven mountains region (ger.: Siebengebirge) in north Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
A couple is standing under the tree and enjoying the beautiful sundown in late October 2011.
This photo was taken from close to the top of the Löwenburg, a mountain in the Seven Mountains region (ger.: Siebengebirge) in North Rhine-Westphalia (central Germany) during sundown in late October 2011. The mountains are covered in fog and illuminated by the light from the setting sun, while the trees in the foreground are colored into various tones of red and yellow, the colors of autumn.
This photo was taken in February last year in the Flora Cologne (ger.: Flora Köln). It shows a sun-drenched rich green meadow with blue and purple crocuses.
This photo shows the silhouette of an urban forest in Cologne (ger.: Köln) at sundown in wintertime. The trees are loaded with snow. The image was derived from a HDR (high dynamic range) picture which was created from three distinct exposures. Usually, the different exposures for the creation of a HDR image are obtained by keeping the aperture constant and using different exposure times. In this case however the camera was (inadvertently, I may add) in shutter priority mode. So the exposure time is constant at 1/125 sec and the aperture varies.
This picture was taken in late December 2010 at sundown in the castle ruin Löwenburg (Lion Castle). The Löwenburg is located on the mountain of the same name between Bad Honnef and Ittenbach in the Siebengebirge, Germany. It shows an isolated tree with ice and snow on it’s boughs. This sole tree is a widely visible landmark and stands in the upper castle square of the Löwenburg.
In good weather, one can see the Rhein (Rhine) and the rest of the landscape from here. When this image was taken, dense fog obstructed the view and produced diffuse light.
