Panorama shot of the Düsseldorfer Medienhafen at night
The picture shows the Medienhafen of Düsseldorf at night. It was taken from the pedestrian bridge leading to the Hyatt hotel about one hour after sundown.
The illuminated buildings (the television tower, the Rheinkniebrücke and others) are reflected in the water and thereby generate a moony atmosphere.
Photo: Düsseldorfer Medienhafen (Hyatt-Hotel) at night
This photo is a night picture of the Hyatt-Hotel in the Medienhafen of Düsseldorf. It was taken from the pedestrian bridge leading to the hotel about one hour after sundown. The cubic lamps on the bridge create a diffuse illumination of the foreground, while the hotel building dominates the center of the image.
Photo: Kölner Dom and Hohenzollernbrücke at night
This photo is a night picture of the Dome of Cologne (ger.: Kölner Dom), the Rhine (ger.: Rhein) and the Hohenzollernbrücke, which is a train and pedestrian bridge over the Rhine. It was taken from the eastern side of the Rhine right in front of the Hyatt Hotel. The blue light which is reflected in the river originates from the illumination of the Musical Dome right next to Cologne Central Station.
Photo: Frankfurt am Main Skyline at Sundown (HDR)
The impressive skyline of Frankfurt am Main’s financial district is depicted in this picture. The skyscrapers are the regional office buildings of some major banks (Volksbank, Sparkasse and Deutsche Bank). The bird’s eye perspective was achieved by taking the photo from the viewing platform on top of the Maintower directly into the setting sun.
This image was generated from a high dynamic range (HDR) picture created by fusing three distinct exposures of the same scenery together. With this technique it was possible to conserve rich details in the dark (buildings, skyscrapers) as well as in the bright (sun, rays of sunlight) areas.
